A Century of Family and Food
Raffaello was an operator in a local paper mill near Lucca in the early 20th century. Like many during those times he took a second job cooking at the nearby Villa Mansi.
The Antica Locanda di Sesto had been providing food and hospitality since the mid 1300's. When the owners emigrated to America, Raffaello and his wife Illida took over the kitchen and made it their living. In those times, local fishermen would bring their live catch to the kitchen at the Antica Locanda.
In the coming century, Raffaello's decendents would continue his passion for cooking and become the most distinguished establishment for Traditional Lucchese Cucina and hospitality.
Aurelio is the great-grandson of Raffaello. With the guidance of his grandmothers and mother, he brings us the flavors and the experience of a time gone by.
